Event Details

Prepare for Boards and Lead with Confidence "The GAIA AFRICA Board Development Programme is designed for Ruby Members, Emerald Members and selected Non-Members who wish to prepare or refresh their knowledge for board appointments. These women want to stand out for the value they will add, and lead with distinction and confidence. This programme is curated by GAIA AFRICA and is facilitated by GAIA Members who are experts in the relevant fields. The programme is held over 8 weeks (half a day per week) with a final closing cocktail at GAIA House where those who have passed through the programme network and connect for future board appointments.


Benefits of the Programme:


  • The GAIA AFRICA Board Development Programme provides an engaging forum for our members and selected non-members who wish to sit on boards to come together, gain new knowledge from the latest research, and put those concepts into practice when they are appointed to boards.
  • The programme will deliver sophisticated business and leadership concepts that have immediate and practical applications for the modern-day board member, allowing her to improve her proficiencies on boards that she sits on or will be invited to.
  • Each participant will better understand the why and how to apply modern principles and business theories that will help them better lead organizations as a board member.
  • Experts from the GAIA AFRICA Emerald Membership will facilitate these sessions and provide the practicum for participants to take back to implement.


Curriculum - Delivered Virtually

The programme will be delivered through eight interactive virtual sessions held over eight consecutive weeks. The Sessions will take place every Thursday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in May and June, with the last session holding on Thursday June 12th.


There will be a final event including a panel discussion, networking and cocktails holding on Thursday 12th June, at 6:00PM at GAIA House.
