Get ready to be inspired by the incredible journey and transformative impact of Chief Nike Davies-Okundaye, the Founder of Nike Art Gallery, a Nigerian Yoruba and adire textile designer. She is best known as an artist for her cloth work and embroidery pieces.


A visionary artist and cultural ambassador whose work has revitalized traditional Nigerian textiles and empowered countless young artists and women. With her deep commitment to preserving Yoruba heritage, she has established vibrant art centers, trained thousands for free, and championed the powerful narratives of Adire and batik textiles. Her creations, celebrated globally and housed in prestigious institutions like the Smithsonian, not only capture the rich tapestry of Nigerian history and mythology but also speak to universal themes of resilience and empowerment.


Her work has been featured on CNN's African Voices and is displayed at the Smithsonian Museum, the Gallery of African Art, the British Library, and Johfrim Art and Design Studio. She holds chieftaincy titles and was honored with an Honorary Doctorate by Rhodes University in 2019.
